The short answer: Our prices depend on so many factors, it’s not possible to concisely say. Without knowing details about your project, anything we could say here would be wild conjecture. You should be suspicious of any web developer, or studio, who can answer this question without at least a comprehensive conversation taking place first.
The long answer: To get a better idea of the cost of what you need, shoot us an email or give us a quick phone call (407-501-4757). We’ll ask you some questions about the nature and purpose of your project, what sort of functionality the site will need, your graphic design needs, and so on. Then we’ll be able to give you a ballpark cost and timeline range. If you’re still interested, we’ll continue the conversation and come up with a firm quote.
If you talk to a web designer, developer, or studio who gives quickly gives you a price, run away as fast as you can. Imagine telling someone you want to buy a house and have them immediately give you a price for that hour. Any fair and honest realtor would want to know the more details, such as potential neighborhoods, number of bedrooms, style of home, et cetera, right? The same goes for building web sites; depending on the features you want for your web site, the cost can be anywhere from a few thousand dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Lastly, when discussing price, whoever you're speaking to should be able to indicate why the price they provided is what it is. For instance, a shopping cart can really increase costs vs a site that doesn't have eCommerce features. Always ask many questions.
Projects may be based upon either an hourly or fixed cost basis. Smaller projects are typically hourly, with larger projects quoted at a fixed cost. To secure a project, smaller projects require payment upfront while larger projects kick off with a percentage payment.
Yes. AVALUX is a professional web design and development studio, both in terms of our work and in terms of our procedures. All work requires an agreement to be signed.
While we do not push monthly fees or retainers, and it is policy at AVALUX to complete projects in a fashion where our clients can operate them without the need for our involvement, we do offer a retainer-style agreement — what we call Executive Memberships. Memberships are offered to clients who we believe will benefit from the ongoing involvement of AVALUX, such as ongoing marketing and advertising tasks, site enhancements, or other management and facilitation.
Memberships provide numerous benefits, such as a special discounted rate, a Service Level Agreement for support, a closer working relationship, and a minimization of paperwork. Essentially, an AVALUX Membership acts as an extension of your in-house team. For more information, please reach out to us.
We've seen those ads, too. Be suspicious of anyone who says they’ll build you a web site for little cost. There’s a big possibility they’ll take your money and run. What's more likely is that they'll take your money and provide you an exceptionally low quality, bug-riddled website — wasting both your time, money, and potentially harming your reputation. At AVALUX, we provide custom web design and development. In other words, we don't use templates and don't rush projects out the door.
Remember, a consultation with AVALUX Studios is always free and we just might be able to prevent you from wasting a thousand bucks.
Absolutely. Our goal is to both please you and your customers; we can’t do that without your expert input. We always start off taking a look at your existing branding — logo, paperwork, mechandise, social media pages, and so on. A halmark of AVALUX Studios is that we always ensure your new site will be presented as a consistent and integral part of your overall brand.
We pride ourselves on our Web Production Process. Bluntly put, it's unequaled in its throughness. To learn more about our process, check out our Production Process page.
When it comes to copyrighting, AVALUX Studios acts as project manager. We do not directly provide copyrighting services, aside from the optimization of content. We do, however, partner with several expert copyrighters with individual focuses in various industries. As for photography, we certainly do provide stock photography researh and procurement, but like with copyrighting, we do not provide originally photography. We work closely with a local photographer in Central Florida, and can perform searches for qualified photographers from other geographic regions.
AVALUX is not a web host in the sense that we own and operate servers. However, for select clients who have ongoing needs, we do offer hosting packages through our hosting account. These hosting packages not only include hosting, but close monitoring and support by AVALUX. You can view hosting offered by AVALUX as an additional service on top of the base hosting service.
AVALUX Studios provides multiple ways to request support after a project is concluded. Before requesting support, and to ensure expectations are correctly set, please refer to original agreement documentation, including Change Orders or amendments integrated into the agreement after the original execution date.
Requesting support should first be done so by submitting a ticket. You may submit a support ticket via the following methods:
NOTE: It is strongly recommended to support to submit a text-based support request via option #1 or #2 above. This will result in faster service, as tickets received via phone must be transcribed and entered into the system during the phone call.
